As part of the City of Elgin’s iFest, an international celebration that brings together dozens of cultures right here in Elgin, restaurants are invited to participate in the Best of the Fest Salsa Challenge.
From 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., guests will be tasting salsas from a dozen local restaurants and then voting for their favorites. The winning salsa with the most votes will be recognized on stage at the end of the event at 2 p.m. with a trophy and other prizes. This is a wonderful opportunity to promote your business at an event that will be well attended by hundreds of families and kids. Best of all, it’s FREE to participate!
- Each participating restaurant must bring a minimum of 3 gallons of salsa (no more than 5 gallons)
- We also encourage you to bring business cards, flyers or menus to promote your business at your space at the Salsa Challenge.
Although you are welcome to do so, you are not required to staff your space at the Salsa Challenge. We will have volunteers available to scoop and serve the salsas into small sample-size containers. If you do want to attend in person, NO FOOD MAY BE SOLD AT THE SALSA CHALLENGE. (If you want to be a food vendor at Elgin iFest, please contact City of Elgin Special Events at 847-531-7056 or e-mail email@example.com. Fees and other restrictions will apply.)
If you are interested in participating in Elgin iFest’s Best of the Fest Salsa Challenge or if you have any additional questions, please call iFest Committee Member Jason Pawlowski at 630-977-9290 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Deadline to register is Friday, April 27.
